As a Visual Arts specialist, you'll have access to well-resourced studios, strong leadership support, and a community that embraces creativity, hands-on learning, and continuous professional growth.This is an exciting opportunity to inspire artistic expression, develop students' practical and critical thinking skills, and play a key role in a school that values both its staff and the arts.Apply now to join a forward-thinking, community-focused school committed to excellence in education and the creative arts.Key duties:Develop and deliver a comprehensive Visual Arts curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering diverse techniques, mediums, and concepts.Create engaging, differentiated lessons incorporating hands-on projects, demonstrations, discussions, and art history.Manage art studio resources, ensuring a safe and organised learning environment.Teach a range of disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, photography, and digital media.Assess student skills and creativity through critiques, portfolio reviews, and exhibitions.Organise and curate art displays to showcase student work within the school and community.Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular projects.Skills & Experience:Have unrestricted working rights in AustraliaCompleted relevant Qualifications in EducationCurrent VIT registrationDemonstrate previous teaching or placement experience in teaching Secondary Art in Australia/NZAbility to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
