The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
Reporting to the Finance and Budget Manager, the Finance and Budget Analyst is a supportive role in the Finance and Budget team with key responsibilities of assisting in the delivery of accounting and financial management responsibilities within and across the Court. The Finance and Budget Analyst will support the wider Finance and Budget team to contribute to strategic and business planning activities, interactinginteracting and providing high quality advice, to program managers, project managers and registrars across the state. The Finance and Budget Analyst will contribute to the provision of high-quality accounting and financial management services assisting in the preparation of annual budgets, reports, projections, forecasts and provide timely information and advice to support efficient and effective operations ensuring alignment with the Court's strategic direction.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has experience in accounting principles and standards, financial legislation and regulations, policies, procedures, and processes along with strong conceptual thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
