About us
The Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre (SMRC) is a not-for-profit community-based agency supporting migrants and refugees in Melbourne's southern region, including City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey, Shire of Cardinia, and surrounding suburbs.
Since 1993, SMRC has facilitated the settlement of newly arrived refugees and provided community services through funded in-language social, economic, health, and wellbeing programs.
SMRC offers aged care services that are culturally sensitive and in-language where needed, ensuring older community members receive appropriate support.
We also operate a multicultural labour hire service providing a culturally sensitive, in-language alternative to in-home care.
Our vision is to enable migrants and refugees to achieve their goals and aspirations.
We aim to support and empower through innovative, inclusive, and impactful programs and services.
The Position
Part-time 0.6 FTE
6-Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary Packaging available
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Marketing and Communications and collaborating with the Senior Manager Strategy, Grants and Program Development, the Marketing and Fundraising Officer will utilize their fundraising, marketing, and event management skills to support SMRC's three-year fundraising strategy.
Responsibilities include implementing a donor journey, promoting SMRC's bequest program, writing grant applications, and organizing two fundraising events.
Person Specification
We are seeking someone with:
Tertiary qualification in Marketing or equivalent
Relevant experience in marketing, fundraising, or similar roles
Experience using a CRM for fundraising (e.g., HubSpot or similar)
Understanding of and experience in nurturing a donor journey
Advanced MS Office skills
Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector and commitment to the FIA Code
