At _It's Your Story Community Supports_, we believe in walking alongside people as they reclaim their lives, reconnect with their communities, and write the next chapter in their story. We support NDIS participants with complex needs, including individuals transitioning from the justice system, to build safer, more independent futures.

We are currently seeking an **experienced Support Worker** to work with a male participant in the South Coast region who has a background in the justice system. This participant requires consistent, culturally respectful, and trauma-informed support.

**Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male applicants are strongly encouraged to apply** to ensure cultural alignment and support the participant's personal growth and identity.

**About the Role**
This role involves working one-on-one with a participant who has spent time in the correctional system and may present with behaviours of concern. You will support them with daily routines, community engagement, and positive behaviour strategies. Your ability to remain calm, maintain clear boundaries, and provide non-judgmental support will be crucial to success.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver consistent, one-on-one, person-centred support
- Promote cultural safety and trauma-informed practice
- Assist with life skills, routines, and community re-integration
- Follow positive behaviour support plans and de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents, progress notes, and communications clearly and professionally
- Work independently while keeping in regular contact with the broader support team

**What We're Looking For**
- Experience working in justice, AOD, mental health, or forensic disability support
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with behaviours of concern
- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in high-pressure or unpredictable situations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to consistent support and professional boundaries

**Mandatory Requirements**
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- First Aid & CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
