**About the role**
Well Life Services are seeking enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, and motivated individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people in our community. This role will provide support services to individuals with challenging behaviours, through the provision of domestic and lifestyle support in a residential and/or community setting as guided by the participants individual support plan.
You will be part of a dynamic team that will work collaboratively in providing a stable, consistent, safe and secure environment, in supporting young people achieve their goals and empowering them to make healthy choices.

**About the role**
Key functions of this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide person centred, recovery focused support in group activity settings to participants who are experiencing mental health concerns and / or psychosocial disability.
- Be able to handle challenging and complex behaviours with confidence, while demonstrating high levels of resilience, patience, and unconditional positive regard.
- Support participants to develop individualised goals, recovery, and other plans, based on their needs.
- Provide support using a capacity building approach that enables participants to build on their skills and abilities, creating greater independence within their lives.
- Enable group participants to experience fun in a safe and fully respectful environment.
- Maintain the group dynamic and ensure inclusive support is available to all participants.
- Assist participants to engage with and liaise with other services and / or assist in identifying additional services that may support an individual.
- Organise and assist with grocery shopping, cooking preparation and clean up associated with group activities.
- Ensure clear, concise, accurate (factual), and objective case notes are completed after each shift.
- Capable of adhering to policies and other legislative requirements, whilst also maintaining full confidentiality.
- Provide and empower individuals and their family's quality support that enhances choice and control, maximises abilities and encourages participation.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by your Care Coordinator.
**Essential Selection Criteria**
- Strong interpersonal, oral, written and team building skills.
- Able to act with objectivity and integrity in times of stress.
- Strong time management skills.
- A strong understanding of professional and personal boundaries.
- An aptitude for learning new skills, competencies, and knowledge.
- Demonstrated value of respect for people with a disability.
- Passion and dedication to support others and build independence.
- An understanding and commitment to person-centred approaches.
- The ability to engage the participant, the family, and colleagues in developing and maintaining strong working relationships and gaining their participation around support and activities.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to negotiate complex matters and resolve conflict.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Paid status) and satisfactory National Police Clearance.
- A current Working with Children Check (Paid status).
- A current QLD Australian C Class Driver's Licence, comprehensive car insurance and registration.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
**Desirable Selection Criteria**
- **Certificate III in Individual Support **(completed or working towards completion), or
- **Certificate IV** level qualification in a Youth / Community Service related field (completed or working towards completion)
- Hope and Healing Certificate.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) trained.
- Mental Health First Aid or Youth Mental Health First Aid
