**Role**:
- Leading teachers will be highly skilled classroom practitioners and undertake leadership and management roles commensurate with their salary range. The role of leading teachers is to improve the skill, knowledge and performance of the teaching workforce in a school or group of schools and to improve the curriculum program of a school.
- Typically, leading teachers are responsible for coordinating a number of staff to achieve improvements in teaching and learning which may involve the coordination and professional support of colleagues through modelling, collaborating and coaching and using processes that develop knowledge, practice and professional engagement in others.
- Leading teachers are expected to lead and manage a significant area or function within the school with a high degree of independence to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program.
- Leading teachers will be expected to make a significant contribution to policy development relating to teaching and learning in the school. A leading teacher has a direct impact and influence on the achievement of the school goals.
- Leading teachers are usually responsible for the implementation of one or more priorities contained in the school strategic plan.
**Responsibilities**:
**Position Summary**:
- The Wellbeing Leading Teacher focuses on promoting and supporting the wellbeing of students, staff, and families within the primary school. This role involves proactive measures, such as developing and implementing wellbeing programs, building staff capacity to support students, and coordinating targeted support for students identified as needing assistance.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Student Engagement**
The position of Student Engagement has a focus on:
1. Working conjointly with the Principal Class team to lead school wide student engagement
- and management practices; including developing and managing positive student behaviour management plans
2. Leading and supporting the continued development and implementation of student
- engagement and management practices in line with our goals in the Annual implementation Plan and School Strategic Plan
3. Building the capacity of all staff in relation to utilising a cohesive and coherent approach to
- student engagement and management practices
4. Managing student attendance
5. Supporting positive transition processes for new students to the school
6. Leading the implementation of all wellbeing programs, including focus on the school values
**Student Inclusion**
The position of Student Inclusion has a focus on:
1. Leading and supporting the implementation of Program for Students with Disabilities /
- Disability and Inclusion; including attending fortnightly meetings with Student Support Services, the implementation and monitoring of IEP¿s and the facilitating of Student Support Group meetings in the Primary sector
2. Leading the implementation of intervention programs for students with additional needs and
- students deemed to be 'at risk¿.
