**ABOUT US**

**Southport Sharks** is one of the largest clubs in Queensland with over 55,000 members. Our facility offers a multi-purpose events centre, which can seat up to 1000 guests, multiple food & beverage outlets, 24/7 fitness centre, kids club, gaming facilities plus a 120 room Mantra at Sharks hotel.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

This person will assist in guiding, training, supervising and leading the team on the floor amongst the action. **NOTE: this position will predominantly be night work.**

Key responsibilities include:

- Conduct daily pre-shift briefings to employees on preparation, service & menu
- Assign responsibilities and tasks to frontline staff and monitor their performance
- Adapt quickly with autonomy due to any last-minute changes
- Communicate effectively and coordinate between chefs, wait staff, beverage staff, clients and other support staff
- Ability to train and develop staff members skills in F&B and customer service
- Delivering a high standard of service to members and guests
- Providing bar and/or table service to guests of the Events Centre
- Arranging furniture as required
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the Events Centre
- Working with a team who have a strong Workplace, Health and Safety focus

**ABOUT YOU**

**To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following**:

- Minimum 2 years experience working in banquets/events
- Current Qld RSA
- Experience in high standard customer service
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team
- A keen eye for detail
- A friendly and positive attitude
- Fast and efficient, as well as confident and reliable
- Enjoy working in a team
- Self-motivated and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
- Flexibility to work fluctuating hours in accordance with operational requirements
