**The Role**

We are seeking individuals who want to make a positive impact on young people who have experienced significant trauma, and therefore have been placed in our specialist care due to the complexity and severity of their behaviour. As part of a close team, you will provide support for children and young people in a home environment. Implementing a trauma recovery model of practice and working to structured plans, you will build long-term relationships with children and young people who often have complex behaviours, providing security, stability and consistency while building their capacity to form positive relationships with others. These roles involve shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.

Our Residential Care and Transition Services team have a number of positions available throughout Brisbane (Permanent Part-time & Casual) for Residential Care Workers to join Mercy Community Team.

This position offers a competitive Permanent Part-time rate of $34.04 to $35.77 per hour or a Casual rate of pay between $42.55 to $44.71 per hour (excluding loadings and superannuation) in line with Level 3 of our Enterprise Agreement (dependent on qualifications and experience). You can also increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits available within our Enterprise Agreement.

**About You**
- Previous experience working with children/young people affected by trauma and disrupted attachment will be an advantage.
- You are resilient, mature, patient and confident working with challenging behaviours.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate and concise written case notes and reports, meeting pre-set timeframes and intermediate level computer skills.
- You must be prepared to obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Available for shift work, including sleepovers, and work weekends and Public Holidays.
- The ability to maintain extreme confidentiality is essential when providing service to clients and external stakeholders from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- You will hold a current Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver's License
- You must hold a positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card), a NDIS Workers Screening Card and be able to obtain a positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required. Mercy will process and pay for checks required.
