The positionLoreto Toorak is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Officer to join our team, working closely with teachers to support students with diverse individual learning needs.
This role will primarily focus on assisting students in the Senior School, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
This full-time, ongoing position will commence Term 1, 2026.
Responsibilities of the role will include:Support teachers in creating a dynamic and inclusive learning environment by applying a range of teaching styles and approaches tailored to individual student needsCollaborate with teachers and the Head of Learning Diversity to implement curriculum strategies that effectively support diverse learnersAllocate appropriate time for lesson preparation and organisation, as requested by teaching staffDemonstrate familiarity with professional standards as outlined in the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and, where applicable, the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV)Confidently integrate ICT into learning support practicesCommunicate with parents through approved channels, providing timely and meaningful feedback on student progressAdhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and proceduresFoster positive and professional relationships with students, staff, and the wider school communityLiaise with relevant support staff including the Learning Diversity team and Library staff to ensure effective curriculum delivery and student supportAbout YouTo be successful in this position, it is essential that you have:Experience working as an Integration Aide/Classroom Assistant/Learning Support OfficerRelevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regardedExperience supporting senior school students with individual learning needsAbility to build, establish and maintain relationshipsA collaborative approach with colleaguesStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management and organisational skillsDemonstrated desire to apply a growth mindset to professional developmentA current Working with Children Check (employee)Why work at Loreto Toorak?
