**The Role**

As an Assistant Manager, you will be Reporting to a hands-on Café Manager who will be there to support you every step of the way to ensure the team and venue succeeds.

This role is responsible for assisting in driving, creating and consistently maintaining pillars of business excellence within the café.

Essentially, you are responsible for the effective and consistent operations of the shift at your outlet with the support of the Café Manager. Your additional purpose is to ensure your customers are "wowed" at every interaction with your team.

More specifically, your key accountabilities in this role will be the following:

- Customer first approach
- People management and engagement
- Sales and profit growth
- Operational efficiency
- Workplace Health and Safety and compliance

You will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the outlet. Delivering amazing customer experience and a proactive approach to getting the job done will be essential in order to succeed in this position.

You will have met the following criteria to be successful:

- Must have proven experience in Café/Restaurant/QSR industry
- Be accountable and a strong manager with ability to delegate
- Not just be KPI driven, but also have the intuition to understand customer and staff needs at all times
- Be customer centric
- Support in recruitment, training and development of staff
- Have a collaborative approach to daily tasks
- Coffee making and food handling experience is essential
- Ability to create an engaged team culture and influence change
- Be a team vice-captain and know how to manage staff including conflict resolution (up to 3-5 staff per shift)
- Have solid stock management experience
- Venues are open 7 days a week (10 am to 10 pm)
- 5-day rotating roster (38 hours p/week) - be available on weekends
- Food Handler Certificate - Mandatory
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate - desirable
