Overview
Senior Data Developer
— Sydney. We are seeking a candidate with strong skills in AWS serverless computing, data processing, and automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon Athena, and Python, and a proven ability to design, develop, and maintain robust data solutions in a cloud-based environment.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows using AWS Lambda and related AWS services.
Query and process large datasets using Amazon Athena and optimise for performance and cost efficiency.
Develop automation scripts and data transformation logic using Python.
Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
Implement monitoring and alerting for data workflows to ensure reliability.
Contribute to best practices for data architecture, coding standards, and documentation.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Data Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
Strong hands-on expertise with AWS Lambda and Amazon Athena.
Proficiency in Python for automation, ETL, and data processing tasks.
Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, CloudWatch, and IAM.
Familiarity with SQL and data modelling concepts.
Understanding of cloud security and compliance best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile environments.
Desirable
AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Developer – Associate).
Experience with big data frameworks or analytics platforms.
Exposure to real-time data streaming (e.g., Kinesis).
