Our Federal Government client is seeking a
**Rehabilitation Case Manager** to work with the Performance and Wellbeing Team.

**The Role**

The Performance and Wellbeing Team is responsible for managing a wide range of complex people management issues. In this role you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering successful injury management and return to work outcomes in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and guidelines. You will need to use your demonstrated liaison and negotiation skills to build productive relationships with employees, managers and external stakeholders including Comcare and other third parties.

**Requirements**:
Responsibilities of the APS Level 6 may include:

- Initiate, co-ordinate, liaise and monitor the rehabilitation process in consultation with all parties and report on the effectiveness of the rehabilitation and return to work programs
- Actively manage the rehabilitation programs and provide early intervention
- Determine whether engagement of a rehabilitation provider is required and ensuring the provider delivers a high quality and cost-effective service
- Support managers and providers to ensure suitable duties are provided for the injured employee
- In compensation cases ensure necessary paperwork is accurately completed, processed and forwarded to Comcare within legislated timeframes.
- Facilitate and navigate difficult situations/conversations to achieve successful rehabilitation and return to work outcomes; and
- Successful management of administration and timeframes in accordance with legislative requirements.

Possessing excellent assessment and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to think on your feet, read situations quickly and modify your approach accordingly, an APS 6 Rehabilitation Case Manager will need excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft complex documents that effectively explain the reasons for particular courses of action.

The need to demonstrate a clear understanding of the legislative and policy framework that relates to people management in the APS is critical. To be successful in this role, an APS 6 Rehabilitation Case Manager will also need highly developed case management skills, well developed communication and negotiation skills and be able to interact effectively and sensitively with staff at all levels.

**Qualifications**
- A relevant qualification or background in Government Investigations, Human Resources, Employment Law or Injury Management is desirable but not essential.
