Our primary focus is to provide high quality and timely genomic information to assist in clinical decision-making and diagnosis of disease.The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Scientist or Technician with strong people management and operational skills to oversee the Genomic Diagnostics technical team and contribute to laboratory operations.As Team Leader – Technical you will use your strong people management skills to supervise and coordinate a team of Laboratory Technicians in their day-to-day activities to maintain efficient testing workflows.You will work closely with the Chief Scientist, Operations Manager and Team Leaders to contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.Your key responsibilities will include:Supervising and coordinating a team of Laboratory Technicians, in collaboration with the Operations Manager and Team LeadersContributing to the development, implementation and maintenance of laboratory policies and proceduresCoordinating maintenance activities such as cleaning, building works, deliveries and stock managementOversee training & competency assessments of laboratory techniciansContribute to projects, audits, test development, instrumentation, implementation and revision of existing procedures, reporting any hazards conducting appropriate risk assessmentsEnsuring good laboratory practices are upheldMaintaining accurate documentation and records & patient confidentialityWhat Type of Person Will be SuccessfulYou will be a Scientist or Technician with strong leadership experience ideally in the health service or scientific laboratory field.
