Co-located with Port Augusta Secondary School, Port Augusta Technical College offers part-time industry training programs in four industry areas, co-designed with leading employers to make sure students are well-prepared for success in their chosen careers.The four industry training programs include civil, resources and infrastructure, health and social support, hospitality and tourism, and multi-trades (for careers such as plumbers, builders, electricians, and boilermakers).
The college is open to students from schools across various regions in South Australia, and for students who are unable to travel daily, supervised overnight accommodation is available on site.We are searching for overnight accommodation officers and supervisors to join our team and make a positive impact on our students.
The hours are negotiable and can vary from casual to full time hours.Overnight Accommodation Officer – please click here to applyOvernight Accommodation Supervisor – please click here to applyWhat you will do:Student Support: Support the daily care and development of students, ensuring their physical, emotional, social, and cultural wellbeing.Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and policies, conduct routine checks, and assist with emergency incidents to maintain a secure environment for studentsStakeholder Engagement and Communication: Assist with student induction, maintain communication with parents and guardians, and participate in meetings with external agencies to support student wellbeing and progressWhat you will need:Demonstrated experience working with young people in a residential, educational, youth work or care setting.Sound understanding of adolescent development, child protection, and trauma-informed care.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop respectful, caring relationships with young people.Ability to respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviours, using appropriate behaviour management strategies and demonstrating resilience in high-pressure situations.What to Do Now:If you are ready to make a lasting impact on the lives of students and shape the future of technical education, we want to hear from you
