Pioneer Credit is searching for a Database Engineer who speaks fluent SQL, dabbles in Python, and is enthusiastic about building systems that make data sing. If you thrive in dynamic environments where innovation meets precision, this may be the role for you.
Based in Perth, you'll be part of our Data & Analytics Department, helping us expand to a cloud-enhanced environment while keeping our data ecosystem humming like a finely tuned ETL pipeline.
Your day to day:
You'll be at the heart of our data ecosystem, collaborating across teams to ensure seamless data integration and reliable workflows. Your responsibilities will include:
Contribute to solution design and architecture for new and existing data storage solutions
Maintain and enhance our data platform for consistent and reliable data delivery
Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and compliance across platforms
Oversee data integration across cloud and on-prem environments
Develop and implement cost control strategies for Snowflake and Azure environments
Monitor usage and performance to ensure efficient resource allocation
What you'll bring to the team:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
Proven experience in hybrid data environments, especially Microsoft Solutions (Azure, SQL Server)
Solid background in database administration
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative problem-solving abilities
We'll be impressed if you have:
Experience with Snowflake and/or Oracle
Familiarity with implementing privacy frameworks in data storage
Exposure to the financial services industry
