**Description**:
The Role
Based in Lithgow and reporting to the General Manager - Operations, this role is focused on managing the warehouse team to ensure effective inventory management and control, managing stock and freight movements, while partnering with sales, account managers and procurement to improve customer experience. Key to this role is implement system improvements and updating policies and procedures within the warehouse environment and managing warehousing costs. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment and driving WH&S improvements, as well as staff management and training that ensures workplace efficiency and alignment with Fairview policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the warehouse to ensure it operates effectively and efficiently meeting all customer requirements. Hire, evaluate, mentor and develop warehouse staff for future growth within the business. Ensure housekeeping duties are performed and warehouse safety standards are maintained.
- Maintenance and control of inventory including suitable storage, handling and movement, stock control through cycle counts, receipting and dispatch processes, and quality control through inbound and outbound inventory inspections. Identify and manage areas of inventory damage.
- Monitor and maintain all warehouse equipment and vehicles, organise services and maintenance to be performed when required. Manage warehouse consumables to ensure a safe and efficient workplace, while managing costs.
- Liaise with Account Managers, customers and suppliers, and freight companies for incoming and outgoing stock and optimise processes to ensure efficient freight movement and a high level of customer experience.
- Lead the implementation and compliance to WH&S policies and procedures and ensure all warehouse staff comply. Ensure completion of incident reports and review register for WH&S improvements.
**Skills and Experiences**:
Essential
- Strong leadership skills that develop and promote a positive and proficient team culture
- Ability to work in a busy work environment whilst safely managing priorities to meet deadlines
- Ability to implement safe work policies and procedures
- Strong problem solving and decision making
- Valid drivers licence and forklift ticket
Desirable
- 2yrs experience with NetSuite
- Proven warehouse experience with building supplies
- Great knowledge of excel and smartsheet system
- Results driven
- HR truck drivers licence
