We manufacture, overhaul and support custom-built equipment including shuttle cars, feeder breakers and mobile bolters as well as offering bespoke remanufacturing services for continuous miners and other underground equipment.About the roleThe Field Service Technician - Mechanicalwill be responsible to ensure maximum performance and reliability of external customers' machines through condition monitoring, routine maintenance, and by safely, quickly and efficiently responding to breakdowns and taking the appropriate actions to prevent them.Your primary responsibilities will include assessing, maintaining and supporting HBT development equipment on customer sites, particularly in underground mining environments.
You will leverage your technical expertise to audit, repair/replace components and provide guidance on HBT equipment.
You will also directly monitor the equipment in production and provide technical equipment and productivity improvement recommendations to customers that will enhance the performance and reliability of the HBT equipment.Key Responsibilities include:Carry out routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to identify and rectify defectsConduct pre / in progress / post machine inspections as required and reportRespond to breakdown requests and rectify issues as soon as possibleProvide technical assistance and advice to customers and workshop employeesParticipate in workshop and mine site commissioning as requiredProvide feedback to the Engineering team on current issues with machines and provide recommendations to rectify these issues in current and future machinesAssume Team Leader responsibilities on major change outs where requiredIdentify and implement machine improvements whilst in the fieldConduct all activities as per safety and operation policy and proceduresPlease note this role is known internally as Field Service Engineer - Mechanical.About youQualifications/ Experience:Certificate IV and above qualifications are highly regardedTrainer and assessor qualifications are highly regardedCoal Board Medical certificationExperience with Development equipment in underground coal minesPrevious experience providing technical support for high-performance machineryKnowledge of HydraulicsAbility to Fault Find and Diagnose problemsAble to read, interpret drawings and schematicsStrong focus on safetyStrong logical, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesWillingness to travel to customer mine sites including extended consecutive nights away from homeAvailability to support customers outside of business hours and work alternative shifts (afternoon/night/weekend) as neededAbility to work autonomously and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail, administrative skills and time management abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and WordWe offer a competitive salary package as well as opportunities for professional development and growth This is afull-time position with career development and progression available.
