International Logistics Analyst/Officer

**OVERVIEW**:
The International Logistics Officer is responsible for monitoring the in-transit stock levels and overseeing the movement of incoming and outgoing goods. The incumbent works closely with the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Team and freight forwarders to close the gap from Purchase Order (PO) creation to receipts into our Warehouse Team, supports and advises on logistics operational activities, prepares goods and documentation for international export customers, as well as attends meetings about any logístical requirements.

**THE ROLE**:

The position reports to and receives functional guidance from the Senior Analyst S&OP. It is responsible for: a) the tracking of purchase orders once the product has been shipped from suppliers, b) product costing and validation, c) computer file maintenance, and d) representing Gates Australia Pty. Ltd (GAPL) in dealing with Australian Customs and product freighters.

This position is authorised in sea and air freight transactions only, to approve invoices from Australian Customs, GAPL appointed freight forwarders and freight charges from GAPL suppliers.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
Responsibilities of the position are:

- ** Container scheduling & database activities**: Liaises with Warehouse Receiving and customs broker's staff to maintain a smooth flow of container receipts and produce shipping schedules including the measurement of inventory in-transit/producing monthly/annual container analysis/breakdown of on costs/ container value and measurement of freight.
- ** Costing/receiving goods - local & international transfer of distribution orders and price updates**: maintains the import costing module of the computer system. Upon receipt of goods, product must be physically booked into stock with a minimum delay.
- ** Placement of Air freight / direct ship orders / direct invoicing**: places into transit and prepares international custom documentation for our customers in New Zealand and Pacific Islands.
- ** Tariff codes and tariff concession review**:maintains tariff master file to ensure correct duty rates are used and liaise with our customer broker's staff to maintain tariff concessions.
- ** Authorisation of Exports/Imports documents**: checks and authorizes service fees, custom duty, freight and handling charges on import/export tax invoices.
- ** Shipment creation in SAP**:

- Supporting systems implementation and testing
- ** Quality Commitment**. Actively supports and practices the principles of Gates quality commitment and continually analyses and implements improvements to job functions.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 2 years or more of experience in a similar role
- Experience with SAP is desirable
- Intermediate or Advanced in Microsoft Excel Skills
- Understanding of international freight forwarding and International Commercial (INCO) terms
- A Diploma of Logistics (TLI50415) or equivalent Supply Chain Management qualification may be beneficial
- Evidence of Australian Right Status is a must
