Type : Full-Time Term : Temporary Position Details Teacher – Year 1 St Pius X is a single stream, co-educational school that caters for students from Pre-Kindy to Year 6.
The school has a team of highly committed staff and receives strong support from the parish, School Advisory Council, P & F and parent community.
St Pius X is a well-resourced school which embraces evidence based teaching and learning methods.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher to complement our dynamic team.
Selection Criteria The successful applicant will:
• be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.

• possess the necessary Early Childhood Education qualifications.

• be familiar with the Early Years Learning Framework (ELYF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS).

• have a strong understanding of the developmental needs of young children.

• offer a differentiated curriculum to cater for children of all abilities and assist all students to achieve their full potential.

• have an awareness of 21st century teaching and learning strategies; implement teaching programs that engage all students in inquiry based learning.

• possess strong ICT skills and the ability to integrate technology in the teaching and learning program.
Familiarity with Apple products would be desirable.

• be an organised staff member who shows initiative, flexibility and displays a positive outlook.

• communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other staff.

• demonstrate highly competent classroom management skills.

• be accredited to teach Religious Education or be willing to undertake the relevant studies.

• be willing to participate in extra-curricular activities.
Qualifications Required To be considered for this teaching opportunity, potential candidates must be practising Catholics and enthusiastic educators committed to the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.
You must also have:
• A minimum four year tertiary qualification
• A current TRBWA and a Working with Children registration
• Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (or working towards).
