The Cloud Solution and AI Architect is responsible for owning the overall technical relationship between the customer and Microsoft.
They are a trusted advisor to the customer who guide their adoption of SAP on Azure in the most effective way.
By connecting customer needs with the appropriate Azure services on SAP, and architecting for optimised consumption, CSAs produce sustainable outcomes for our customers and deliver success on their cloud journey.
This Cloud Solution and AI Architect role is perfect for someone who has a background in being hands on with technology, while also having consulting and customer leadership.
We are looking for a Cloud Solution and AI Architect specialising in SAP on Azure delivery to join our team in Australia and New Zealand.
The role offers the opportunity to work on and influence complex and interesting SAP on Azure deployments from inception through delivery.
As well as infrastructure concerns you will be comfortable dealing with systems and data integrations for SAP in cloud.
This position requires verification of Australian Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements plus you must hold Baseline Security Clearance conducted through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
Role based in Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Sydney
Responsibilities
Deliver value-based solutions aligned with Microsoft methodologies to support customer operational readiness and business goals.
Guide customers toward secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and optimised architectures to drive retention and expansion.
Collaborate with account teams to build consumption plans and provide feedback to improve delivery offerings.
Identify cross-solution opportunities and consult strategically to align technical solutions with customer outcomes.
Translate customer challenges into industry-aligned solutions that demonstrate ROI.
Build trusted relationships with technical and business decision-makers, including C-level stakeholders.
Act as the voice of the customer, sharing insights to influence product development and improve customer experience.
Lead resolution strategies for customer dissatisfaction and drive transformation acceleration.
Identify strategic partner opportunities and support technical pre-sales efforts.
Lead initiatives to develop scalable partner offerings and influence adoption of new technologies.
Maintain visibility in solution-specific communities and collaborate with internal stakeholders to share field insights.
Identify gaps and drive improvements in products, processes, and methodologies.
Provide thought leadership and contribute to scalable IP and frameworks.
Mentor peers and lead upskilling initiatives aligned with solution area and corporate priorities.
Represent Microsoft in internal and external technical forums, contributing to community engagement and brand elevation.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates with prior technical consulting experience in SAP technologies are highly preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 7+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications (PQs)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 12+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
OR equivalent experience.
Cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, database migrations, and technology management.
Complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation and/or support of highly distributed applications.
Experience in building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives in large or highly strategic accounts.
6+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
6+ years experience leading technical projects
Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications)
