**About BaptistCare Macquarie Park**

At BaptistCare Macquarie Park you will find three of our residential aged care facilities nestled closely together
- BaptistCare Shalom Centre, Cooinda Court and Dorothy Henderson Lodge. Each centre is unique and individual, featuring tranquil gardens, an onsite cafe and Chapel and is located nearby the shopping centre and train station.

**About the role**

BaptistCare catering division is seeking a kitchen hand on a **permanent part time** basis for minimum of **70 hours** per fortnight. Working as part of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing high quality and nutritious food and delivering excellent service to our residents.

You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and with a large team who are committed and being able make a difference in the lives of residents. Our main kitchen is location in Shalom Centre and we cater to the three aged care center's in Macquarie Park.

This role will also require weekend work. The pay on offer is $26.18 base + 10.5% super + penalties + NFP salary packaging

Duties may include:

- Assistance in meal preparation and serving
- Assisting Chefs with food prep & ability to follow recipes
- Maintaining and promoting clean and hygienic work practices
- Checking and recording temperature of food
- Compliance with Food Safety Program and HACCP guidelines
- Assisting with deliveries of stock and stock rotation
- Participate in ordering food
- Minimising food wastage
- Understand the needs and expectations of our residents

**About you**

The successful applicant will be a team player who enjoys interacting with older people and has the right heart and drive to serve. A **Certificate III in Commercial Cookery** is required for this role.
- 2 years previous cooking/kitchen hand experience preferably in aged care
- Understanding of work health and safety practices
- Ability to work unsupervised and take on physically demanding tasks
- Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong focus, positive attitude and is well organised
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Team player with the desire to grow, learn and be part of team
