**Purpose of the position**:
The role reports to and assists the Canteen Manager in the day to day running of the school canteen according to the policies and procedures of Hunters Hill High School P&C Association.

The Canteen Assistant will support the development of strong relationships within the school community in particular with the students, parents and volunteers, teachers and other school personnel.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The Canteen Assistant under the supervision of the Canteen Manager assists with the day to day operations of the school canteen. This includes, but is not limited to assisting with:
(a) monitoring the day to day operations of the canteen, including daily food service;
(b) implementing and managing procedures;
(c) maintaining all inventory, including a annual stock-take;
(e) handling of money

(f) inducting and training volunteers;
(g) follow procedures and processes regarding food and workplace safety;
(h) carrying out cleaning duties daily;
(i) ensuring that the operation of the canteen is aligned with the values of the P&C, the school and school community;
(j) compliance with Department of Education requirements and directives;
(k) working with the P&C Executive to ensure that the Canteen operates in a safe, sustainable and professional manner, and serves the school community.

**Essential criteria**:

- Current Working with Children Check and Police Clearance.
- Completed or willingness to complete, Food handling certificate (basic) or it's equivalent

**Application process**

**Salary**:
Salary is based on the Fast Food Industry Award, level 1.

**Expected hours**:

**Canteen opening hours**:
Monday to Friday, 8am to 2:30pm.

Pay: Up to $30.91 per hour
