Culturally Safe Cancer Care Project Officer

Overview Western NSW Local Health District is seeking a passionate and experienced Project Manager to lead a new initiative aimed at improving culturally safe cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across our region.
This part-time position (funded for 2.5 years through Cancer Australia grant funding) will play a key role in designing, implementing, and evaluating strategies that enhance access, experience, and outcomes for patients and families.
Based within the Western NSW LHD, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with Aboriginal communities, health professionals, and cancer services to create lasting change in how care is delivered.

This role is within the Cancer Services & Innovation area, with location negotiable within WNSWLHD.
Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to improve culturally safe cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Collaborate with Aboriginal communities, health professionals, and cancer services to drive lasting change in care delivery.
Manage project activities, timelines, and stakeholder engagement for a grant-funded initiative.
Monitor outcomes related to access, experience, and patient/family results; report on progress and impact.
Qualifications Strong background in project management, community engagement, or cancer care.
Commitment to health equity and working with Aboriginal communities.
