This is a full-time position where you will be working with a supportive team of Planning professionals who are leaders in their field.Our APAC Planning team is made up of a group of highly skilled statutory and environmental planners with an enthusiastic approach to life and work, who enjoy the exposure to a national project pipeline.

Whether you've recently started your career or are a few years down the track and looking to take the next step in the industry, this accelerative opportunity is the one for you.You will be provided the opportunity to work independently, from project inception through to approval, on small scale projects as well as being part of larger, multi-discipline teams working on more complex projects.ResponsibilitiesAs part of the National Planning team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range from;Assisting with preparing planning reports at both a local and state significant scale,Navigate complex approvals pathways under state and federal environmental and planning legislationPreparing feasibility reports and due diligence advice, and provide strategic environmental advice on land use and development proposalsLiaise with stakeholders including clients, consultants, and regulatory authoritiesAttending meetings and liaising with clients, councils, consultants & other government agencies.You will be supported by Senior and Principal consultants to further develop detailed knowledge and understanding of the Planning industry.As a self-starter, you will be able to display confidence and an eagerness to learn.ExperienceThe ideal candidates will have:A university qualification in Town Planning or Environmental Planning1-5 years' experience in town planning or environmental planning, ideally in consulting.The ability to analyse and interpret situations and problems to develop appropriate solutions.Experience in statutory approvals for industry, extractive industry, or environmental approvalsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and high computer literacy.Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively within a team.Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.SLR values our staff and we look to provide a supportive and collaborative working culture.
