Job Description:
Job Purpose
The Associate will assist in overseeing fund operations functions with external vendors for back and middle office functions. The role involves supporting operational efficiency improvements and process enhancements. The Investment Operations team manages relationships with service providers such as unit registries, custodians, fund accountants, and service groups supporting the firm's offices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations with service providers, transfer agents, custodians, and internal teams.
Provide quality client service, handling client calls and coordinating information flow.
Assist with investor onboarding queries and escalate issues as needed.
Support new fund products and trading instruments.
Monitor adherence to SLAs and contractual policies.
Process daily transaction files and track new product activity.
Analyze data from in-house databases and resolve operational issues.
Evaluate trade exceptions and shareholder issues, tracking trends for management review.
Review daily deliverables from back and middle office functions.
Escalate issues to facilitate resolution with service providers.
Assist in developing business requirements and data collection for change requests.
Prepare audit documentation for clients and external auditors.
Understand service provider processes and platforms.
Assist with cash reporting queries and NAV review processes.
Support special projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics preferred.
3+ years' experience in Financial Services, preferably in back office or fund operations.
Excellent communication skills.
Teamwork and collaboration skills, including across international offices.
Strong analytical skills and data synthesis ability.
Attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Self-motivated and eager to learn.
Results-oriented and diligent.
Ability to develop insights, generate opportunities, and solve problems.
Effective partnership and solution implementation skills.
Continuous improvement mindset and mentorship abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
Preferred:
Experience in ETF operations vendor oversight.
Knowledge of SharePoint or Jira.
Proficiency in Power BI and Power Automate.
