What can

you expect?

Working in our Technical & Weapon System department you will gain exposure to naval weapons and radar mechanical systems. During this traineeship you will gain experience in:
Assisting with the repairs, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical/electrical equipment and systems in surface and sub-surface Naval vessels

Assisting with the fault analysis of commercial and military electrical/mechanical weapons equipment and systems

Carry out repairs to electrical/mechanical systems

Assisting in installation of all types of naval equipment in shore and ship borne environments

Whilst we focus mostly on a great attitude and willingness to learn, here are a few key attributes you must bring to the role:
Completion of Certificate III (we accept various previous trades from automotive, diesel mechanic to fabrication and fitting)

Demonstrated mechanical and/or technical aptitude

Great communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of people

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
