Bid & Pursuit Manager

**About the role**

We are seeking an experienced Bid & Pursuit Manager to work collaboratively with our partners, lawyers and BD team members to produce compelling, winning bids. You will assume ownership of the end-to-end bid process, along with managing predominantly Commonwealth government bid opportunities from qualification through to client appointment, including bid strategy development, refining value propositions, solution development (in collaboration with legal and BD team members), commercial considerations whilst ensuring the firm's risk management processes in bid preparation are adhered to.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage the bid qualification (bid go / no go) process when assessing new market opportunities
- Manage virtual bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders including legal teams, BD team, finance, in-house counsel and IT teams (as necessary)
- Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final proposal to the client
- Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
- Contributing to the written proposal - both in terms of content and presentation
- Ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids
- Understand and resolve technical, strategic and business messaging for particular bids
- Work with BD to prepare and coach client-facing presentations as they relate to the bid process including preparation of supporting materials for final round interviews
- Arrange and carry out post bid debriefs, circulating feedback to teams.
- Draft, capture and refine content in the firm's bid system

This position is a full-time role based in Melbourne, Canberra or Sydney, with flexible working arrangements available. We work in a hybrid way at Maddocks, with at least 3 days of our week in the office, and also have wider flexible working arrangements, whether that's hours, place of work or the leave you take. **About you**

You will ideally have a background in professional services and experience of bid campaign management from opportunity identification through to project delivery, and will provide valuable input into opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions and legal responses.

You must be comfortable working at senior levels and be fully conversant with the competitive marketplace. Specific skills include:

- Ideally 5-7 years within a professional environment
- Strong drafting ability and attention to detail
- Project management ability
- Comfortable working within tight timeframes
