**The Opportunity**

Based at Gooloogong, NSW, the Dairy Manager is responsible for the day-to-day care, wellbeing and performance of the herd and creating a nurturing environment for all livestock to thrive. This role is responsible for leading key teams including calves, herd health, parlour, reproduction, feed and barns.

With a focus on leadership and people, this active, hands-on role is responsible for management of the dairy and implementing strategies to achieve agreed AFMH herd performance goals and objectives. As a champion for wellbeing, this role ensures proactive herd management, promoting longevity and lifetime performance.

With demonstrated experience in people leadership and training, the successful applicant will have the ability to drive a positive culture and develop a high performing team. This role offers the autonomy to develop and implement innovative solutions that promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.

**About AFMH**

AFMH operates multiple sites across eastern Australia. Dairy operations are located at Moxey Farms in Gooloogong, NSW, as well as Coomboona Farms in Coomboona, VIC. In addition, AFMH operates Ladysmith Farms, a young stock operation near Wagga Wagga, NSW and extensive cropping land in Torrumbarry, VIC.

**The successful applicant will possess**:

- Experience in managing large-scale dairy operations with 3-5 years' experience as Dairy Manager or similar
- Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary or equivalent (desirable)
- Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to motivate and engage others, building commitment at all levels
- Demonstrated experience working within and across teams, ensuring a one-team approach, working towards unified goals and a common purpose
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to actively listen and engage others
- Critical thinking skills in order to make clear-cut and timely decisions based on analysis, sound reasoning and judgement
- Experience operating dairy software programs such as DC305, Cow Manager, onefeed
- Capacity to monitor health and productivity through both data analysis and on-site observations
