**Your new role**:
As Operations Capability Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing Operations staff capability requirements, and assist the Resource Capability & Governance lead in developing strategies for addressing capability gaps within the Operations workforce for BAE Systems Australia Maritime.

This role will see you will support the Operations Capability Team to govern and report on our current and future operations staff capability requirements, support the development and implementation of the Operations Capability database and pathways including managing the training evidence for Operations staff. You will be responsible for analysing Operations staff development needs and sourcing, developing and delivering training and development activities for the Operations function to meet capability needs.

The Operations capability coordinator role is a great opportunity for you to utilise your trade, engineering or training background to join the operations team in a growth role and develop your career on the Hunter Class Frigate Program.

**More specifically, this role will see you**:

- Assist in development and management of the Hunter Class Operations Training and Development database and SQEP assessment tools as part of the Operations Capability Team.
- Be responsible for managing Operations staff capability levels work collaboratively with Operations line managers to define, capture and report on Operations staff skill requirements and source or develop appropriate development activities for staff.
- Lead the development and delivery of Operations functional training resources to support Operations staff to have a clear path to progress through Operations competencies and career paths.
- Assist in the budgeting and forward forecasting for Operations functional training programmes and spending.
- Present capability gaps along with potential Risks and Opportunities to Operations Management providing recommendations and mitigation activities.
- Day to day processing of training evidence for production and operations workers for shipyard equipment and tooling, internal and RTO supplied training courses.

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- The ability to obtain or hold an Australian Defence Clearance
- Experience providing workforce training and governance support preferably in the shipbuilding, marine or heavy engineering industries will be highly regarded
- Tertiary level qualifications in an Engineering, trade or project management discipline is desirable but not essential.
- Strong stakeholder management skills coupled with the ability to communicate and articulate information with senior stakeholders in a clear and effective manner

Clearances

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
