Being an Army Officer is one of most challenging and rewarding roles in the world. Now you have the opportunity to get a glimpse within the Royal Military College front gates, get a taste of Officer training, and see how the college turns ordinary Australians into first class Army Officers.

Exercise First Glance is a four-day residential work experience activity designed to give a snapshot of what is involved in Army Officer Training, highlight the different roles and experience you can have as an Army Officer and to find out what is required to start an Army Officer Career. The Army Officer Training program is designed to challenge you both physically and mentally and prepare you to be a leader in the military and within your community.

You will have an opportunity to tour the college, view the training facilities, accommodation and Mess Hall. You will be able to ask questions of current serving Army Indigenous, Non-Indigenous Officers and cadets about their Army Career and receive information sessions about the different avenues of entry into Army, the recruitment process, and how to prepare for the Officer Selection Board.

Army will provide return airfares for all successful participants. Experienced Army and civilian staff will supervise the program. Food and accommodation will be provided. Participants will be involved in interactive activities such as: Obstacle courses, Physical Fitness Activities including a Fitness Assessment, military life and skills training, leadership challenges and a visit to the Australian War Memorial.
