This is a unique opportunity to work on both the mechanical systems and the structural integrity of plant equipment, infrastructure, and shutdown projects in the mining and resources sector.This is a full-time role based in Port Pirie, South Australia, on a Mon-Fri roster with relocation availableYou'll gain practical experience in:Analysing and assessing plant equipment and structural components.Designing modifications to optimise existing mechanical and structural systems.Assisting in the design and coordination of new equipment installations, including load-bearing supports, platforms, and foundations.Supporting shutdown planning — including developing detailed work packs, schedules, and cost estimates.Preparing technical specifications for tendering, reviewing supplier proposals, and supporting contract awards.Collaborating with experienced engineers on troubleshooting and problem-solving for both mechanical and structural challenges.Safety & Quality FocusFrom day one, you'll be part of our safety-first culture.
You will learn how to integrate safety and environmental requirements into all designs, plans, and procedures, and contribute to maintaining a safe, reliable, and efficient workplace.We're looking for a graduate who:Holds (or is about to complete) a degree in Mechanical Engineering — with an interest in or exposure to structural engineering principles.Has strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Is proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with project planning tools (Microsoft Project experience is a plus).
Has some exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD experience desirable).
