The Team
Information Technology Services provides a wide range of IT facilities and support services to ASIC. We are undertaking major technology projects that will transform our business and continue our significant technology transformation in several areas such as virtualisation, mobility and cloud. We make use of the latest technology with an increasing focus on data sharing and analytics which will make ASIC a 'best in class' regulator supporting the Australian financial markets. The Project Services team delivers all IT related projects in accordance with the ASIC Project Management methodology (APM).
The role
- Lead a team of Infrastructure and Cyber project managers to ensure qualitative and timely delivery of all projects within the portfolio.
- Provide coaching and support to project managers ensuring adoption of the ASIC Project Methodology (APM) and agile based ways of working. Ensures team clearly understands their responsibilities and works alongside each team member to provide the support and guidance required to ensure successful project delivery.
- Supporting the IT leadership team - in particular the relevant IT business sponsor/s to ensure they are across project progress and any escalated risks, issues and concerns.
- Works with IT business sponsors to create a multi-year program of work that aligns to the broader ASIC strategy and priorities.
- In conjunction with IT PMO, produce timely reports that consolidate the health of the portfolio inclusive of project progress, budgets, risks, issues and concerns. Provides input to status reporting for Governance boards such as DGSC, Commission, ITEC and other boards as required.
- Effectively manage the PM resource pool within the portfolio and work collaboratively with other resource managers to ensure that project resources are appropriately allocated to each project.
- Manages the portfolio project pipeline - ensuring all roadmaps and new projects are integrated into one portfolio pipeline. Pipeline monitored regularly reviewed and all prioritisation, dependency management and resource planning needs addressed.
- Conducts routine reviews of projects within their portfolio - ensuring alignment to ASIC Project Methodology, Corporate Finance and Commonwealth government guidelines.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Business Management and demonstrated experience managing project team members in a complex corporate or government environment. Project Management certifications are preferred (PRINCE2, MSP or Agile).
- Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure and/or Cyber portfolio/program and/or project management.
- Demonstrated experience in project and program prioritisation, resource planning, financial management and project-based procurement.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects in accordance with a Project Management methodology. Preferred experience in delivering projects in accordance with Commonwealth Government guidelines for procurement, financial management and asset management.
- Well-developed management and leadership skills including the ability to coach and build high functioning teams while positively influencing others to achieve results.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and the ability to work to meet deadlines while managing several competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building skills, with the ability to negotiate and consult to engage all levels of the organisation and develop effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work with IT Managers and team members at all levels and work collaboratively to achieve results.
