This role will play a key part in a large-scale digital transformation, ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of data solutions that support critical Vocational Education and Training (VET) IT systems.This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact data projects that shape the future of digital services in the public sector.About the RoleAs a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, architectures, and analytics solutions within a hybrid cloud environment.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to both operational data management and transformation initiatives.You will play a pivotal role in:Developing and managing scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologiesBuilding and optimizing data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage within Fabric Lakehouses / Delta LakesEnsuring data integrity, security, and governance complianceSupporting advanced analytics through data preparation for machine learning modelsCollaborating with key stakeholders to align data solutions with business reporting and analytics objectivesKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelinesOptimize SQL queries for performance tuning and database managementMonitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issuesEnsure a smooth transition of data solutions from project implementation to BAU operationsWork closely with stakeholders to identify and implement data management improvementsMentor and support team members on data engineering tools and best practicesWhat We're Looking For3+ years of experience in data engineering within Azure environmentsStrong expertise in Azure Synapse, data lakes, SQL-based tools (SSIS, SSRS), and PySparkExperience in data pipeline development, ETL processes, and cloud-based data managementAdvanced SQL skills with a focus on query optimization and database integrationKnowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practicesExposure to machine learning and statistical models for advanced analyticsFamiliarity with Data Modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical)Nice to HaveExperience with Power BI, Dynamics 365, and DataverseUnderstanding of DevOps/CI-CD for data pipelinesWhy Work with Our Client?
