21st August, 2025UON Energy for Every FutureUON is a Western Australian integrated energy company providing turnkey energy and water solutions to the mining sector and beyond, helping our customers on their decarbonisation journey utilizing the technology, skills, and real experience of team members across the business.UON's business centers around the design, manufacturing, supply, construction, and maintenance of remote, off-grid power and water infrastructure, with many products manufactured in UON's Malaga facility, based on proprietary and patented designs.About The Opportunity:Join our Energy division in an exciting 8:6 FIFO role, overseeing maintenance and mechanical modifications to UON equipment tailored to meet customer specifications.Undertake planned and ad hoc inspections on the condition of UON products as required.Installation and commissioning of UON products in workshop/yards and WA mine sites.Predictive and reactive service, maintenance, and repair of UON and client equipment as required.Complete general maintenance, repairs, and component change-outs on a variety of surface mining equipment.Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts of the power generation equipment by troubleshooting and provide professional advice as required.Mechanically modify equipment sold by UON to meet customer specifications.Assemble equipment sold or owned by UON, including pumps and power generation equipment.Reassemble diesel engines and parts after repairs.Repair and rebuild UON assets as required to company specifications.About You:This position will suit a skilled and self-motivated HD Mechanic with prior exposure to maintenance and testing of power generation, dewatering, and pump equipment.Basic welding knowledge.Programming / Protection analysis.Mechanical testing.Ability to read complex schematics.Ability to work in a team or independently.Ability to work in a remote setting.Understanding of regulatory requirements.Problem solving / Troubleshooting.Requirements:Current Nationally Accredited Confined Space Ticket (within 2 years).
Current WA HR Class Drivers Licence.Trade Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Equipment Mechanic (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology).
