Overview
Reporting to Finance Manager – Shared Services, this role manages all aspects of our trade finance products including but not limited to trade credit insurance, letters of credit, supply chain finance, export credit agencies, risk management and trading terms.
The incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and effective management of our export shipments.
A key requirement is to identify and drive a culture of continuous improvements and support the Shared Services leadership team to meet our business strategic imperatives.
This is a full time, permanent position offering hybrid working and is based in Adelaide or Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the global trade insurance policy, including monitoring limit exposure and reporting overdue debt in line with policy guidelines.
Collaborate with internal teams and key stakeholders to evaluate export activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Process and manage trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit, and related documentation (issuing, advising, checking, payments, amendments) in accordance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations, while meeting strict deadlines.
Provide timely support and resolution for customer queries and concerns, and offer expert advice to internal accounts and finance teams.
Support colleagues in transactions involving other banks (via SWIFT) and contribute to maintaining strong banking relationships.
Apply and develop technical expertise in trade finance operations, including collections, payments, document verification, and various types of guarantees.
Assist credit controllers in achieving targets and act as a point of escalation for issues related to processing and allocations.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Receivable role, with exposure to customer service.
Strong understanding of accounting standards and solid analytical and numerical skills.
Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred but not essential).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Strong relationship-building skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
