Full Time Garment Technician / Product Developer - Apparel
The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a snow, outdoor enthusiast to join one of Australia's leading snow and outdoor adventure brands.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Apparel Product Developer to join our Sourcing & Production team on a full-time basis at our Torquay Head Office.
Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, the
Garment Technician /
Product Developer - Apparel
will be proactive; have an exceptional eye for technical detail to uphold XTM's high quality standards and work well in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
Job Overview:
· Working in conjunction with design you will be responsible to ensure development of all apparel styles translate into a commercial, sustainable, high-quality product that achieves margin targets and quality standards across XTM and all brands.
· Create detailed size, point of measure and technical specifications and approval comments in PLM system and issue all tech packs to suppliers.
· Co-ordinate garment fit sessions to ensure integrity of fit across all product categories.
· Liase with suppliers to facilitate timely development of SMS and production, ensuring all timelines are met and all items are submitted for approval, including protos, lab dips, raw materials, strike offs, packaging, SGS tests, PPS, Shipment samples, QC Inspections.
· Co-ordinate quality testing/inspections of product.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Have a minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role, experience with technical snow, rain, outdoor apparel will be highly regarded.
· In-depth knowledge of garment construction and fabrications.
· Excellent understanding of principles of grading and patternmaking.
· Qualifications in Fashion or related field.
· Experience with offshore garment manufacturing and ability to travel to factories.
· A good working knowledge of quality manufacturing standards and testing.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Previous experience using a PLM system.
· Intermediate skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel.
High level of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
Work with empathy and respect and foster positive working relationships across departments and with suppliers.
A strong desire to create sustainable product.
