
Regulatory Support Officer, Queensland Health

The role This role provides effective and efficient administrative support to record keeping, data entry and approval functions of MARU to facilitate improved regulatory practice; and provides other administrative support services to the Director, Medicines Approvals and Regulation Unit (MARU) and Manager, Medicines Approvals and Regulation Team (MART) as required.
MARU is primarily responsible for undertaking complex and sensitive activities with respect to regulatory policy, approvals and licensing, and compliance to administer the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019 (MPA), Medicines and Poisons (Medicines) Regulation 2021, and other relevant legislation and regulation.
Key responsibilities: Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces.
To undertake records management, data entry, licensing activities and word processing in order to maintain an efficient records system and ensure accurate records of patients and medical professionals, and other statutory licence and approval holders.
To prepare approvals and correspondence as required to meet the Department's regulatory obligations under Queensland legislation
Provide highly accurate input to the databases through creation of documentation or updating records.
About you
We are searching for someone who: Sound general database knowledge, for example the QScript System, and/or other similar health information or licensing systems and Microsoft Office Suite software.
Ability or the capacity to rapidly acquire the ability to understand the application of legislation and compliance activities and to resolve problems quickly and effectively or refer appropriately for resolution.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as an effective team member, ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment and in the provision of administrative support activities to a multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrated working knowledge of office procedures and high-level administrative skills.
High level of interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff at all levels within the organisation and external clients.
