Data Solution Specialist role at
IAG
. Join the Data Capability & Stewardship team and help shape how data drives decision-making across the organisation. This permanent role offers a flexible hybrid work model. We welcome applicants from Gadigal Country (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) and Meanjin (Brisbane).
You will design and deliver scalable data solutions to improve data utilisation, uplift data capability, and enable better decision-making. Use your SQL and DBT expertise, along with knowledge of IIA business domains, to build fit-for-purpose data models, support analytics and reporting needs, and deliver value through data products. You'll work closely with business and technology teams to gather requirements, design scalable data models, and contribute to agile delivery. You will conduct data analysis using AI and automation to uncover actionable insights, ensure data quality and governance, and continuously improve data solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Your Role
As part of the Data Capability & Stewardship team, you'll:
Gather and refine data requirements with business and technology teams
Design scalable data models using SQL and DBT to support analytics and day-to-day operations
Create user stories and contribute to the agile delivery of data products
Apply AI and automation to uncover actionable insights
Ensure data quality and governance; continuously improve data solutions
About You
5+ years' experience in data analysis or solution delivery, with ability to translate business needs into actionable insights and data solutions
Advanced proficiency in SQL and DBT, with hands-on experience using BigQuery and Cloud Composer
Skilled in complex data analysis, including AI techniques to support decision-making
Proficient in Tableau or similar tools for reporting and visualization; able to communicate findings to stakeholders
Familiarity with IAG tools (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Collibra, Monte Carlo) and strong commitment to data governance and quality
Solid understanding of testing methodologies to validate data solutions
Strong business acumen to align data solutions with Intermediated Insurance business drivers
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, or relevant Insurance domain; or equivalent industry experience
