**THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Group Manager - Asset Engineering and Digital, the Engineering Manager is a Senior business leadership role that sits within the Asset Engineering and Digital Leadership Team. The incumbent provides Organisational, Cultural and Strategic Leadership as well as significant and demonstrable knowledge, experience, and expertise with the area to the AED team and the wider Generation and Development team to deliver upon Origin's Purpose, guided by Origins Values and Leadership Code.

The Engineering Manager is responsible to ensure that all internal and external stakeholders are consulted to support effective decisions on the strategy and direction of the Business Unit and the wider Origin business.

- delivering safe reliable generation during the energy transition and providing key support in accelerating our renewable and clear energy objectives.
- Management and development of the roles within their team and its capability
- Accountable for development and delivery of their team capability and culture
- Manage and set strategies for all team functions and activities
- Set functional frameworks, policies and processes and work across Origin to achieve consistency and alignment across the business
- Lead and manage the continuous Improvement Strategies across AED and within their team.
- Ensure that areas of sustainable competitive advantage are captured and effectively transitioned into the business in line leading industry standards
- The Engineering Manager, Civil and Process is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Civil and Process Engineering function.
- The role manages a diverse team of engineering specialist including Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Chemical, Process, and other Science Based Technologies.
- The Engineering Manager is a key senior management role, ensuring the teams strategic alignment with Origins objectives ensuring safe, reliable generation whilst accelerating the transition to renewable energy.
- This role will work collaboratively across other functions ensuring Origins existing and new assets are managed and optimised throughout the asset life while balancing cost, risk, and performance.

You can show, through the work you've done:

- Leadership experience (min 5rs)
- Heavy Industry or process experience (min 5yrs)
- Environmental knowledge and experience
- Industrial Risk Management knowledge and experience (min 5yrs)
- Governance and Assurance knowledge and experience
- Understanding of regulatory requirements
- Relevant qualification in Engineering, Project, or Management discipline
