Our Benalla manufacturing site, located in regional Victoria, 2.5 hours north of Melbourne's CBD, plays a crucial role in our operations.
It provides energy and automation digital solutions for efficiency and sustainability, primarily Transformers, Kiosks, and Switchgear.
The plant exemplifies our commitment to local manufacturing and innovation, contributing significantly to the regional economy and offering numerous job opportunities.
We are seeking anexperienced Procurement Buyerto join our team in Benalla, Victoria.
This permanent role involves transforming procurement for our plant by sourcing, selecting, and developing suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes regarding Price, Quality, Service, and Risk exposure for components and raw materials for both existing and new products.
This role involves:
Leading supplier selection, development, and performance audits
Managing category spend analytics, APOP planning, and supplier negotiations
Collaborating with regional and global category teams to align sourcing strategies
Managing RFPs, pricing agreements, forecasting, reporting, and lifecycle costing
Achieving cost reductions through negotiation, benchmarking, and localisation
Ensuring material flow, mitigating risks, and developing alternative sourcing strategies
Building long-term supplier partnerships to drive innovation and sustainability
Leveraging digital tools to streamline procurement activities
Aligning with Schneider's sustainability goals via responsible sourcing
Our ideal candidate will possess:
A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Transformer components and supply chain requirements
Proven skills in procurement, buying, and sourcing
Intermediate IT skills, experienced with digital tools and best practices
Strong data analysis, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Project management experience and the ability to collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders
