We partner with children with life-threatening conditions, their families and medical teams to grant wishes as unique as the children who imagine them. At Make-A-Wish, our mission is to grant the wish of every eligible child as we believe these wishes complement treatment, build resilience and bring hope to these children and their families when they need it most.
**About the Role**
At Make-A-Wish the Marketing team are going through an exciting period of transformation and change and have recently created a new role for a **Communications &** **Engagement Manager** to join the team in Melbourne.
This role will be responsible for engaging and managing key relationships with our community of Ambassadors (Wish recipients and their families, volunteers, influencers and celebrities) through a program of communication, media, events and campaigns.
We're wanting to grow this unique community and find new ways to engage them to help us create more awareness and support of our life-changing work across Australia. Our Ambassadors are a vital network, helping with activities such as speaking at events, providing inspirational content, taking part in campaigns and promoting the work of Make-A-Wish to their audiences.
**Responsibilities of the Role**
- Develop the Ambassador engagement and communication program and grow our Ambassador community
- Oversee the delivery of media and PR activities for Make-A-Wish, in collaboration with PR agencies
- Create opportunities to reach new audiences, build brand awareness and drive community support in line with strategic marketing priorities
- Work with teams across Make-A-Wish to champion use of media and Ambassadors to support objectives and outcomes
- Produce regular reports on overall performance, media exposure and insights
- Ensure the brand is correctly represented in comms and brand integration across all touchpoints
**About You**
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working in media/communications/PR
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing are highly desirable
- Experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit industry would advantageous, but not essential
- Experience of creating innovative programs, comms or activities to engage an audience
- Proven experience of managing successful media campaigns or creating unique experiences to generate media exposure
- Must be process orientated with the ability to work within deadlines whilst using your creative and innovative thinking skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills as well as having a strong work ethic, being driven and a self-starter
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and see future opportunities and mitigate potential risks
