Overview Head of Learning Diversity at Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (Siena College).
This role is a Position of Leadership (POL 3) with a three-year tenure, full-time (FTE 1.0).
The successful applicant will lead the Learning Diversity Team and all Learning Diversity Department Services, working collaboratively with the Learning and Teaching Team.Siena College is committed to inclusive education that supports each student in achieving their full potential.
The Head of Learning Diversity advocates for and works with all staff to ensure the needs of diverse learners are met, including highly able students, students with learning difficulties, students with disabilities and students supported through funding.
The role works closely with the Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching to maintain an unrelenting focus on learning across the College.
It includes a teaching allotment as negotiated with the Principal.The College seeks a candidate who can deliver contemporary and effective learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students and align with the College's Strategic Plan, while collaborating with students, staff, parents and external agencies to implement strategies that enhance participation, access and engagement in learning for all students.Key Responsibilities Provide proactive educational leadership for students with diverse learning needs.Lead staff in continuous improvement in learning and teaching for diverse learners.Collaborate with the Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching to sustain focus on whole-school learning.Support staff in delivering inclusive, contemporary learning opportunities.Lead the Learning Diversity Team and related services to meet student needs.Engage with families and external agencies to support student participation and progress.Manage a teaching allotment as negotiated with the Principal.Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated capacity for proactive educational leadership of students with diverse learning needs.Highly developed skills in leading staff in continuous improvement in learning and teaching, particularly for students with diverse learning needs.Commitment to Catholic Education and understanding of charism and spiritual tradition in an order-owned Catholic school.Knowledge of contemporary educational research, issues, trends, practices and policies.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop productive relationships with students, staff and parents regarding student needs.Discretion and confidentiality in dealings with individuals and groups.Commitment to a learning community and the ability to work with all members of the community to enhance learning and teaching.Commitment to ongoing professional learning.Experience as a secondary school teacher, with desirable experience as a special education teacher/leader in a secondary context.Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, testing interpretation and monitoring student progress.Application Procedures Applications close 4:00 pm on Monday, 15 September 2025.
