We currently have the opportunity for a Tree Management Officer to join our team.ResponsibilitiesAdminister Council's Tree Preservation Order (TPO)Undertake administrationPrepare quotation documents, assess and select contractors and project manage the completion of various arboriculture works on public landProvide advice to the public on correct arboriculture practice and correct management of treesLiaise with independent Arborists and consultants in relation to tree management when requiredTake all reasonable steps to ensure compliance with Council's policies, procedures and legislation and care of self and others in the workplaceAssist Parks Coordinator with tree management issues and street tree maintenanceAttend as council alternate technical officer on various external committeesWhat we offerPermanent full-time role, 35 hours per weekStarting annual salary from $73,032 to $80,517 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience).
A market allowance will be considered for an exceptional candidateA vehicle for operational useA dedicated work phone to help you connect, disconnect and balance your work and personal lifePayment of licenses, tickets and courses deemed essential for your roleGenerous leave entitlements including up to two days flex leave each monthAccess to the Fitness Passport and Employee Assistance Program for yourself and your immediate familyWhat you\'ll need to be successful in the roleA Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture)Expert knowledge in arboriculture including experience in carrying out inspections and the preparation of reportsKnowledge of Australian Standards relating to arboriculture in particular AS4373Knowledge and experience issuing infringement notices as per Local Government Act and the Environmental Planning Assessment ActThe ability to work unsupervised and plan, prioritise and manage your work activitiesExcellent customer relations skills including internal and external stakeholdersExperience in MS Office suitePre-Employment ChecksYour employment will be subject to a National Criminal Record Check to determine your suitability for employment.
