Position overview
The Food & Beverage Attendant is responsible for anticipating and meeting the needs of the restaurants guest, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable experience that reflects the spirit and energy of our high-energy, fast-paced & award-winning restaurant Yamagen.
Key responsibilities
Maintain an acceptable degree of knowledge with regard to food and beverage product.
Anticipate and attend to the guest's needs and desires immediately.
Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team.
Acquire a full knowledge of the hotel's food and beverage service policies and procedures.
Maintain superior levels of food and beverage service to hotel guests.
Comply with the hotel's standards when producing and dispensing food and beverage products.
Participate in all rostered theoretical and on the job training sessions.
Comply with all of the hotel's operational policies and procedures.
Ensure that all areas are stocked in accordance with established par levels.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Have a full knowledge of and practice of all of the hotel's established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
Adhere to all established cashiering policies and procedures.
Ensure the protection and maintenance of all operating equipment.
Complete all assigned opening and closing duties.
Give assistance to other departments or outlets when required.

As an In Room Dining Attendant, you will deliver a luxury dining experience straight to our guests' rooms. From breakfast trays to late-night cocktails, you'll be responsible for taking orders, preparing trays and trolleys, serving food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages — RSA is compulsory), and ensuring every detail of the in-room experience feels personal and seamless.
This role requires someone who thrives on attention to detail, takes pride in presentation, and understands that hospitality is about creating memorable moments in every interaction.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in In Room Dining, restaurant, or hotel service.
Ability to work independently while staying connected to the wider team.
Passion for hospitality and a drive to exceed guest expectations.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional and efficient service within your assigned section, embodying the premium yet approachable experience that defines Yamagen.
Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively with genuine hospitality.
Maintain a clean, well-organised section at all times.
Possess full knowledge of the Yamagen menu, including sake, Japanese whiskies, signature cocktails, and the full range of small plates, sashimi, and hot dishes.
Confidently explain dishes and beverages, offer thoughtful recommendations, and upsell where appropriate.
Follow food and beverage service policies and maintain alignment with brand standards.
Collaborate closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
Comply with all hotel and restaurant operational policies, including WH&S guidelines.
Maintain grooming and personal presentation to the highest standard.
Attend and participate in team briefings, trainings, and meetings.
Complete daily opening and closing procedures for your section.
Contribute to a strong team culture by supporting fellow staff and promoting a positive work environment.
