**About the role**:
The Transport Systems and Optimisation Specialist is a full-time position, based at Yarraville but will require travel across various site locations.
Reporting to the Transport Optimisation Manager this role is responsible for analysing the current state of transport, evaluate business needs, document requirements for optimisation and future state to deliver to the business scope, objectives & benefits. The transport optimisation specialist will act as a business partner to influence the right outcome and fit for purpose solution.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Utilise professional business analysis techniques to gather, fully understand and define requirements, rationalise, optimise into a workable solution, and document the result.
- Analysing transportation needs, including the volume of products to be transported, the frequency of shipments, delivery locations and the profile of products moved including understanding the implication of changing transport constraints such as time-windows, loading rules and customer restrictions.
- Support development of optimisation rules: The specialist will review business operations to develop rule sets to allow effective optimisation transportation routes and rate cards to minimise transportation costs, reduce delivery times, and improve efficiency. The most effective routing rules will optimise vehicle loads to reducing empty runs and maintain agreed service levels or optimise CSR transport rates meet SLA's and commercial return to CSR.
- Reporting on transportation activity and other inputs: The specialist will work with TMS operations, finance, logistics operations and the contract and performance management team to assist improve management and performance of the transport function.
- Provision of analysis & insights into transport cost drivers and optimisation initiatives & work closely with operational teams to minimise costs.

**About You**:

- 3+ years in a similar role with significant exposure to transport operations.
- Advance excel skills and hands on experience with using business analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Strong commercial & financial acumen supplemented by Analytical & modelling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a multitude of stakeholders whilst managing competing demands.
- Ability to interrogate operational and financial models for resilience and robustness.
- The ability to present data (both financial and other) clearly, accurately, and succinctly.
