The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.
Our philosophy is that every person deserves dignity, respect and quality of service and that no one should be without a safe, affordable and secure home. Services are free, voluntary, accredited and delivered by professional and committed staff.

We have a great opportunity for an AEP Team Leader to lead an effective and high functioning team to deliver services to people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
This role will be instrumental in coordinating the adult entry point housing and homelessness response across the Barwon Region including oversight of housing allocations, financial resources whilst sourcing emergency and crisis accommodation for vulnerable people. You will be required to manage the priority list including mobilising interim responses and to ensure service delivery targets are achieved and funding body requirements are met.
You will successfully
- Clearly articulate service models / standards of practice and service performance targets and ensure staff are supported to implement practice improvements
- Manage finance matters in line with budget constraints
- Implement assessment and screening processes and tools that assist staff to provide consistent client focused service
- Implement rosters for the management of service delivery to ensure effective service delivery and best outcomes for clients
- Facilitate monthly staff and program meetings.
- Participate in staff recruitment and induction processes.
- Keep up to date with current government policies concerning homelessness, family violence, Child Safety, AOD and reforms
- Implement capability development plans for the team to improve capability and service delivery
- Lead and assist with team building activities
This is a permanent full time position located in Barwon Homelessness Geelong however travel to other sites may be required.
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, or equivalent Human Services field, a degree qualification is preferred
- Relevant experience in a social service environment including experience in supervising staff
- A current VIC Drivers Licence
- Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
