Overview
Bendigo Advertiser lists Belt Picker for our client, Australia's leading steel manufacturing and distribution company. Belt Pickers will work along conveyor systems, sorting and processing materials with precision and care. This is a great opportunity for reliable workers looking to grow within a stable industry.
Responsibilities
Stand along a moving conveyor belt and manually pick, sort, or remove materials based on type or quality.
Identify and remove contaminated or non-conforming items.
Ensure proper sorting to meet production or recycling standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Report mechanical or material issues to supervisors as needed.
Qualifications
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and quick reflexes.
Comfortable working in environments that may be dusty, noisy, or involve repetitive tasks.
Previous experience in a similar role (manufacturing, recycling, mining) is a plus.
Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.
Forklift ticket.
Pass pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screening.
Current driving licence and reliable transport.
