**The opportunity**:
CSIRO is seeking an experienced and visionary senior leader to take on the role of Director, Business and Infrastructure Services. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position is a key member of the CSIRO Executive Leadership Team and holds national accountability for the strategic direction and operational delivery of CSIRO's property and infrastructure services.
The role oversees a complex and geographically dispersed property portfolio and associated services, ensuring functional excellence, sustainability outcomes, customer-focused delivery, and long-term value creation for Australia's national science agency.
**Your high-level duties include**:
- Oversee the strategic planning, operations, and maintenance of CSIRO's national property and facility services portfolio, including capital works programs and sustainability strategies.
- Lead and empower a large, multidisciplinary team with a strong focus on performance, service excellence, and cultural alignment with CSIRO values.
- Drive the planning and delivery of safe, sustainable, and functional facilities that enable cutting-edge scientific research.
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to inform infrastructure planning and investment decisions.
- Deliver environmental performance through effective carbon, waste, and resource management programs.
- Foster a customer-centric, high-performance culture that supports innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience in property, capital works, facilities management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale, complex property and environmental sustainability portfolios, with a strong focus on service delivery and performance outcomes.
- Proven capability in strategic planning, change leadership, and stakeholder engagement at senior executive and board levels.
- A commitment to safety, integrity, and excellence, with a track record of developing high-performing, inclusive teams and driving positive workplace culture.
- Strong commercial acumen, judgement, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver under pressure.
- Experience building functional capability, succession planning, and embedding development strategies across diverse teams.
- Ideally possess experience across both commercial and government property sectors
