In this newly created role, we are looking to grow the capabilities of our Gen Re Life Australia (GRLA) Pricing team by appointing a Principal Pricing Actuary who will strategically drive the pricing efforts and growth of new business for Gen Re.

**Your Role**
You will have a proven track record in leading the pricing of group insurance business and be demonstrably client centric with a strong desire to win new business and retain existing clients. This role will include the pricing of retail reinsurance business as required.

As Principal Pricing Actuary for our Life Insurance Pricing Team based in Sydney, you will be responsible for leading the pricing efforts of our reinsurance business, with a particular focus on new business opportunities.

As a capable and passionate leader, you will have the ability to actively collaborate and influence across the pricing team, broader GRLA and international teams to optimise every interaction and drive results.

You will report to the Regional Chief Actuary and work closely with the wider Gen Re Life team both in Australia and across overseas territories. **Your Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the pricing efforts for new group and retail business quotes through to completion
- Work with senior management, including global management, to achieve competitive and sustainable pricing outcomes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, including product development and value add services
- Lead teams through the pricing process
- Support the development of actuarial staff in the team
- Represent GRLA in external and industry forums, including conferences, seminars and industry bodies

**Your Profile**
- Demonstrated experience within a culture of building successful client portfolios
- Experience leading group insurance pricing work at a reinsurer or direct insurer. Retail reinsurance pricing experience would be an advantage.
- An excellent market reputation
- Commercially minded with a proven personal record of client success
- Experience of managing fellow actuaries is preferred
- Technically proficient with the ability to form robust recommendations that balance competing demands
- Able to influence stakeholders through technical and commercial competence
