**The role**:
Opportunity for an Assistant Work Package Manager to join our AWS team based in Garden Island Sydney. In this role your primary objective will be to oversee the management of nominated projects, as delegated by a project manager, ensuring the project objectives in relation to safety, management of customer expectations (internal and external), project execution, cost, time and quality are achieved.

The Assistant Work Package Manager is responsible for:

- Control of the project production to ensure it is completed on time within budget to the specified technical and quality standards in a safe manner.
- Implementation of the Project Management Plan, Quality Plan and the Safety, Security, Emergency and Environmental Plan.
- Ensure risks are correctly identified, assessed and managed.
- Ensure sufficient resources (labour, equipment, plant and materials) are allocated to meet schedule requirements.
- Ensure Milestones and Key Events are achieved on time in accordance with the Contract including the provision of all data packs and Certificates.
- Liaison with the Customer to ensure all aspects of the Contract is being effectively managed.
- Prepare and submit reports and other deliverables as required by the Contract.
- Management of Industrial Relations, OH&S, Security and Environmental issues on site.
- Assist in preparation of bids and tenders, including schedules, based on customer's requirements.
- Manage customer/stakeholder relationships to ensure other responsibilities/accountabilities are achieved.
- Management of resources, including e-people 1st, training needs and leave.

**How about you?**
- Diploma in Project Management
- Minimum Diploma or Certificate in relevant Engineering discipline.
- Knowledge and understanding of current naval technologies.
- Good people skills and a proven ability to communicate in a positive manner with internal and external customers
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Quality and OHS systems knowledge.
- Experience in contracts and business development, including the costing and preparation of tender proposals.
- Advance computer skills, particularly MS Office.
- Previous Naval or Commercial ship repair experience desirable
